For the past year, I’ve been a full-time activist against this illegal administration, translating nearly ten years of successful legal advocacy against Trump into grassroots organizing to rid our nation of this criminal hijacking of American democracy.
This is my first official Substack post: a video from my live YouTube show Lights On with Jessica Denson, because last night I had had enough — Donald Trump’s flagrant treason via the ICE paramilitary force waging war on American cities, his open bidding for the Kremlin on the world stage, the torture, persecution and killing of American citizens standing up against fascism a la Nazi Germany in the 30s.
Usually, my language is clean, but last night I had zero f* to give, and no mercy for the lawmakers who talk a damn good game but are actually responsible for where we are.
More people need to understand what is and what is not being done by those who have sworn an oath to support and defend our Constitution, especially those so often championed as leaders in the Democratic Party.
Just like I would with a family member or loved one, I’m demanding that they do better. I’m not settling for less than the radical leadership that will answer this crisis. You shouldn’t either. Once we all start making the demands We the People are entitled to, we will hasten our way out of this nightmare.
So starting now, I will do my best to post all my shows to Substack, and provide new content about my insight and activism on this platform. In a sea of outrage clickbait, my work is laser-focused on the actual means of getting Trump and his lawless regime removed from power. I’m not a “podcaster” or “content creator” because I want to be. I’d much prefer to be continuing my work as an artist, but like so many of you, I can’t stand on the sidelines as democracy disappears before our eyes.
Please watch the full episode above and share it widely. And please subscribe to this newly active page. I think you will find few exposing and advocating quite like I do.
For now, I am a one-woman operation, so any support is greatly appreciated — and will help me do more for the movement. You can support that work with a paid subscription, a donation to my ongoing legal battle, or a purchase of Lights On merch. Most of all, you can support me by claiming your agency and joining me in the fight. I am beyond humbled and grateful for your solidarity.
xx Jessica
